Notesbar stores your note in the locations described below. When iCloud sync is active, the app sends the current note and revision metadata to Apple's CloudKit service. Notesbar includes no advertising, analytics or tracking.

What does the app collect?
Notesbar has no separate Notesbar account, advertising, analytics or tracking. It does not collect usage information. iCloud sync uses the Apple Account already configured on your device; the note data sent to Apple CloudKit is described below.
What is stored on your device
The current note in Rich Text Format, revision metadata, sync state and local recovery copies. Recovery data can include the immediately preceding version, periodic history snapshots, daily snapshots and versions preserved during a synchronisation conflict.
Your text-size and appearance choices, toolbar position and launch-at-login preference remain on the device. A random device identifier is stored locally and is also included in the revision metadata sent to CloudKit so Notesbar can distinguish revisions made on different devices.
iCloud synchronisation through CloudKit
When iCloud sync is active, Notesbar sends the current note and revision metadata to Apple's CloudKit service and stores them in the app's private database associated with your Apple Account. This allows the note to synchronise between your devices.
CloudKit is not iCloud Drive. Current Notesbar versions do not create or update a user-visible folder or note file in iCloud Drive. During a one-time migration, Notesbar may read a legacy note created in iCloud Drive by an earlier version; the original legacy file is left unchanged. CloudKit data is managed through your Apple Account and Apple's service, terms and privacy policy.
If you choose to keep the note only on this device, Notesbar does not send it to CloudKit while that mode remains active. Syncing starts again only after you choose Resume iCloud Sync.
If you are offline, signed out, restricted from using iCloud or out of iCloud storage, Notesbar continues to use its verified local copy and retries when possible. If the Apple Account changes or the cloud copy is removed, cloud writes pause until you make an explicit choice in Settings.
Files you import
When you choose Import, Notesbar reads the RTF file you select and stores its contents as the current note. The selected original file is not changed. Its note contents can subsequently sync through CloudKit in the same way as text entered in Notesbar.
Copies you export
When you export recovery versions, Notesbar writes copies to the Files location or sharing destination you choose. Those exported copies are then stored and handled by that destination, independently of Notesbar's local storage and CloudKit sync.
Recovery retention
Local recovery files are rotated automatically. Notesbar limits conflict copies and prunes older history to a size budget while protecting the current note and latest safety copy. Clearing Version History removes older history and conflict copies but retains the latest automatic safety copy.
System backups
Apple's device backup or a computer backup may include Notesbar's local app data, including device-only notes and recovery copies. These backups are controlled separately through your Apple Account, device or computer. Deleting Notesbar or its CloudKit data does not necessarily remove copies already held in a system backup.
Deleting data
Removing Notesbar may remove the current local note and all local recovery copies. Removing the app does not by itself guarantee that the CloudKit copy is removed.
Clearing the editor while signed in to iCloud replaces the current note content in CloudKit with an empty note after Notesbar shows Up to Date. It does not delete the CloudKit record, revision metadata or locally retained recovery versions.
To delete all Notesbar data stored by CloudKit, use the iCloud storage and app-data controls available for your Apple Account. This does not automatically delete copies that remain locally on a device or in an export destination.
If an earlier Notesbar version created a legacy note in iCloud Drive, delete that file separately in iCloud Drive after you have verified that you no longer need it. CloudKit data controls do not remove the legacy file.
Support email
If you choose to email support, the address and information you include are used to answer your request. Notesbar does not automatically attach or send your note or recovery files. Do not attach them to a support request.
Children
The app is not directed at children. It includes no advertising, analytics, tracking or profiling.
