The file name has no amount
The app leaves the amount out rather than guessing. That happens when the receipt has no
total keyword such as Totalt or Att betala, when the bottom of the receipt fell outside the
photo, or when the print is too faint to read. The scan itself is still saved in full — open
the PDF and the total is there.
The date is the day I scanned
Dates written with slashes, such as 03/04/2026, are genuinely ambiguous — that is either
3 April or 4 March depending on the country. When the receipt carries no clue about where it
was issued, the app declines to guess and uses the scan date instead. Receipts older than a
year are also ignored.
The merchant name lost its location
For chains the app recognises, the location is trimmed away and only the chain name is
kept. That way every receipt from the same chain sorts together in the folder, instead of
becoming one entry per branch. The full name is still in the PDF.
The name is simply wrong
It happens. The app reads the receipt as well as it can, but a misread amount, a date taken
from the wrong line or the wrong merchant are all possible — especially on faint, creased or
unusual receipts. Nothing about the naming is a guarantee. The scan is saved in full either
way, and the file can be renamed like any other, so the receipt itself is never at stake.
A folder appears greyed out
You can save to any folder the Files app offers — iCloud Drive, a cloud service, or storage
on the device. What appears there is up to iOS and the services you have turned on. If a
folder cannot be selected, that service has not made it available for picking; choose another
location.
A receipt is stuck in the app
If writing to your folder fails, the scan stays safe inside the app and a panel appears with
Try again and Discard. The scan stays in the app until it gets there or you discard it. If the
folder can no longer be reached at all, the app returns to the folder picker.
The camera opens by itself
That is deliberate: once a folder is chosen, the camera opens on launch, and again when you
return after being away for more than twenty seconds. It does not interrupt settings, the
folder picker or a save in progress.

Kvittoscanner is provided as is. There is no warranty that the reading is correct or
that the app is suitable for any particular purpose.
It is not accounting software and gives no advice on bookkeeping, tax or record
keeping. Which records you need to keep, in what form and for how long, follows from
accounting and warranty rules.
The terms for using the app are Apple's standard licence agreement for App Store
apps, which you accept when you download it.

The app saves a picture of the receipt, not an interpretation of it, and that
picture is only as good as the photo. The file name is a suggestion and can be wrong — the PDF
is what counts. Which records you need to keep, in what form and for how long, is governed by
accounting and warranty rules, not by this app.
